About Me
- Jay Piggott
- Jeremy “Jay” Piggott is a PhD student studying freshwater ecology at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Jay’s adventurous travels have taken him to every continent and to over 80 countries on various expeditions and adventures. Jay is an avid rock climber, mountaineer, skier, paraglider, scuba diver, surfer and world traveller. Jay has often combined his adventurous exploits with ecological and humanitarian work for organizations such as the United Nations Environment Programme in Africa, Mother Teresa’s Missionary in India and the ‘Ship for World Youth’ sailing around the globe spreading the message of peace and international co-operation. Jay was also the inaugural recipient of the Antarctic Youth Ambassador award in 2007 from the Sir Peter Blake Trust and Antarctica New Zealand.
